During Phase II of reopening in Prince George's County, Mass will be celebrated at Saint Nicholas Parish on the following days and times with limited capacity (reservations are required at this time):
Please know that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation is still in effect until further notice. If, for any reason, you do not feel comfortable attending Mass at this time, please stay home.
How to Make a Reservation to Attend Mass
There are three (3) ways for parishioners to make a reservation to attend Mass:
Call the parish office (301) 490-5116 during normal office hours (weekdays from 9 AM - 3:30 PM, with the offices closed on Wednesday);
Visit the parish office during normal office hours (8603 Contee Road); or,
Sign up online via Flocknotes (the signups will be emailed on Wednesdays).
Parish and Rectory Offices The parish and rectory offices are transitioning back to their regular office hours (weekdays from 9 AM - 3:30 PM, with the offices closed on Wednesday).
Parishioners are kindly asked to continue conducting their communication and business with the parish via phone or email. This is especially important for the health and safety of both our staff members and visitors.
Any visitors to the office or parish will need to wear a face mask/covering, sanitize their hands if entering the building, maintain social distancing, and be prepared to answer questions regarding fever/cough, sickness, if entering the building.
Likewise, staff members will wear face masks/coverings, wash their hands, and maintain social distancing.
Parishioners who wish to drop off their offertory envelope may continue to do so by way of our secure mailbox located at the end of the sidewalk of the parish office.
Sunday Livestream Mass. The Sunday livestream Mass from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception can be viewed here. The Sunday livestream Mass begins at 12PM. Please know that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation is still in effect until further notice.
Sacrament of Confession. Confessions are held on Saturday afternoons from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM in the Parish Hall. Please enter the front doors of the church on the Parish Hall side. An usher will direct you to the line for confessions. As you enter the church, please wear a face mask or facial covering, sanitize your hands, and maintain social distancing (six feet) while in the church and parish hall.
Suspicious Emails and Scams. There continues to be fraudulent emails being received by staff and parishioners from a spam account using Archbishop Gregory's or other priests’ names. Please note that the Archbishop and priests will not communicate a need for assistance in this way. Please be diligent in not responding to suspicious emails; instead, mark them as phishing and spam. Do not reply to the email.
Sunday Offertory. Saint Nicholas Parish needs your support more than ever. Just like any household, the Parish has regular monthly bills to pay and the offertory collection is the main source of income for the parish. Please join the parishioners who are using Faith Direct for automated giving to Saint Nicholas Parish. Faith Direct offers a safe and secure way to donate to our parish in this time of uncertainty.
